General information about the Station Museum
Governance
On the 13th August 1993 the Paekakariki Station
Precinct Trust was formally registered as a
charitable trust No 588370.
Charities Services Number CC26821
The Trust was originally formed with trustees being
appointed from Steam Incorporated, Paekakariki
Business Association, Tranz Rail Ltd, Kapiti Coast
District Council, Kapiti Historical Society,
Paekakariki Maori Committee,and two publicly
elected community trustees.
Mission Statement
“The PSPT exists to offer a rewarding experience for
our visitors. We develop, care for, and promote
heritage and contemporary collections relating to
Paekakariki and its wider community.”
Strategic Vision
“The Museum will be a leading attraction for people
of all ages to experience Kapiti heritage.”

The museum holds documents, photographs and other items of interest that tell the stories of Paekakariki.
