Feature Exhibits

The museum has an area where we have a “Feature Exhibit” display.

Over the years we have had varying items on display one of our earlier exhibitions a display of kneelers made for the Rangiatea Church.

Kneelers for Rangiatea Church, Otaki
These kneelers crafted by Pat McDonald and Carol Reihana of Paekakariki where on display at the museum before being gifted to the church by the Rangiatea Kneelers Guild.

Rangiatea Church in Otaki, was the oldest Maori Anglican church in New Zealand. Originally completed in 1851, the building was burnt down by an arsonist in 1995, and by 2003 the church had been completely rebuilt
